Union bank of India was founded by late Sitaram ji poddar in mumbai in 1920 around. It was his lone effort to find capital for Indian cotton merchants who were not supported by English banks.
Union bank has published its history book where the entire story is repeated from their archives. Gandhi ji iinnagurated it despite displeasure of the then Govt.
It’s matter of regret that this bank has not even published photo of its founder in their centenarian publication what to talk of any statue.
Hon Minister Meghwal ji knows about his story.
As an ex MP I would suggest he be recognised for the economic support he gave to the natives.

Over the years, the freedom struggle struck deep roots across the length and breadth of the country. It drew strength from every nook and corner of the country cutting across caste and creed, region and religion.

A unsung hero of freedom struggle for india::: His name was Tantia Bhil..........

STORY OF TANTIA::Tantia Bhil (or Tantia Mama) was an Indian Robin Hood. Born in Badada in 1842, he embarked on his career after the harsh measures taken by the British following the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He was one of the greatest revolutionaries who waged an armed struggle against the British rule for twelve years and endeared himself to the masses by virtue of his indomitable courage and passion to uproot the foreign rule.

He became a symbol of the feelings of tribals and general people. He used to plunder the government treasuries of the British government and wealth of their sycophants used to distribute it among the poor and needy. He was skillful in Guerilla warfare. He was ultimately arrested and taken to Jabalpur jail where the British officers tortured him inhumanly. The news of the arrest of Tantia Bhil was prominently published in the 10 November 1889 issue of the New York Times.

I, as a citizen of independent India, salute all the brave soldiers, who sacrificed to make our country free from the Britishers.
