We must do something about the loosely hanging telephone, cable tv and electric cables to make new delhi NDMC area a smart city
A great step in sewage management is to process then sewage in BIOGAS units and use the biogas as fuel. Not only this, the biogas sewage sludge which is left over can be used as manure or landfill for growth of POPLAR,which is a shrub which grows into adult plant size in under one year.So an ANNUAL POPLAR BASED SHORT ROTATION COPPICE can be initiated at urban level. This poplar harvest(WOOD) can be used BOTH FOR PLYWOOD MAKING AND THERMAL ELECTRICITY GENERARATION FROM CHARCOAL.PLEASE DON,T WORRY ABOUT CO? FOOTPRINTS WHEN I HAVE SAID'THERMAL ELECTRICITY' , BECAUSE THIS IS A CLOSED CYCLE CO? GENERATION.That means whatever co? is generated by this year's poplar is actually utilized by the next year's poplar crop. This technology is presently being used in England. The requirements needed for this project would be a large piece land, thermal electricity generation machinery, wood cutting manpower and machinery for cutting wood into small chips(for efficient combustion) as well as a very very efficient system for collection of sewage and organic waste. It is best if we can promote WASTE SEGREGATION AT SOURCE.The organic waste consisting of kitchen waste, dried biomass like leaves etc. can also be added to biogas chamber along with sewage. The non organic waste like plastic SHOULD BE RECYCLED.AGAIN FOR THIS ALSO,WE HAVE A GOOD TECHNOLOGY WITH ZERO CARBON FOOTPRINT AND THAT IS CALLED "solar rotational molding" by LIGHTMANUFACTURING.COM.By this technology we can mold the thermoplastic waste into useful products like dustbins, water tanks, etc.SPECIAL MENTION OF PLASTIC BOTTLES:THESE CAN BE USED TO CREATE MANY ACTIVE AND CREATIVE THINGS OF EVERYDAY USE SUCH AS TOYS,MONEY PURSES,ETC and even STREET LIGHTS.YES,STREET LIGHTS.VISIT liter of light.com to know more.PAPER WASTE CONSISTING OF papers ,cardboards etc. constitutes about 50% of an average Indian dustbin. All this paper can be recycled. Many of our municipal corporations are trying to get rid of all this waste by just incinarating it.BUT BELIEVE ME INCINERATION WON'T HELP IN THE LONG RUN.IT ONLY ADDS MORE CO?TO THE ATMOSPHERE.Waste segregation at source and proper processing of solid waste both from dustbins and latrines can alone help our 'SMART CITIES' to :
1)efficiently handle wastes
2)create more job opportunities
3)create a more eco friendly city with minimum carbon credits
4)create amenities such as plastic, wood, electricity, paper within the borders of the city so as to improve the services to people.
HOPING TO FIND ALL THESE TECHNOLOGIES IN OUR CITIES IN THE NEAR FUTURE
THANKYOU
the future of transport is when u soft press on the screen of yr mobile app and the taxi arrives, and the payment is deducted automatically as soon as u goes out of range of taxi, so from this point of view, the same taxi would be serving the need of more than one person and the requirement for personal vehicle will dramatically reduced, also the laws and policy should be framed in such a way that, car pooling is not questioned by the police or doubted as personal vehicle owners using as a cab
Social inequality is the another indirect cause of disballancing between development and environment people who had earn lot of money by unfair means are engauged in satisfaction of immoral activities in the name of development, which is harming environment badly.Urbanization does not mean the centralization of population.Government should opt the policy of decentralization of urbanization.Heavy population is mother of all problems, now nature had revolted against over loded burden of population
Balancing between development and environment is an equal responsibility of Government and people.Government should emmidiatly take steps to erradicate root causes and stop all useless development works which are harming environments.First of all the housing policies of state governments should be taken in strict supervision of Central Government. They had made it a major source of income, through their agencies and private developers. One house policy is nessesity of hour.
Every colony has a slum attached to it. Unless we think of relocating them or improve these places and provide them basic amenities, our idea of smart city could be affected. In the absence of toilets they defecate in the open. they use the pavements to live, sleep, throw waste, etc. we must do something urgently.

Urban infrastructure which is efficient well planned and convenient for citizens plays a very important role in making the city smart. Citizens will use public transport only if it is convenient, saves on time and money. A lot of time is spend in commuting and waiting for traffic to move. We need to work out a system which would be preferred by citizens over their personal vehicles.
My suggestion is that any city can be made smarter only by the participation of its citizens. In Delhi power crisis is still there and Delhi is a city which is full of offices govt as well as private. Why can't be these offices make energy efficient by the use of roof top solar plants which will reduce power crisis can be used by Schools(Govt as well as private),Hospitals,Doctor's, clinics,Shopping Malls,Cinema Halls,Govt offices like Cantonment Areas,Railway stations,Metro Stations etc
We all are notice that in every city many of Houses are need to be re constructed because Level of road are getting high home. This is because of contractor want to save money and they constructing new layer above old one without destroying old layer.
So wake up. Whenever New road is in process in front of your property, stop them and ask them to maintain same level of road. it will make city equel and clean and automataic help for smart city

The NDMC Power Grid Stations, School, hospital and other NDMC Building's terracces can be used for installation of the Solar PV panels. The energy generated can be utilised by connecting it to the power supply grid of the building. A lot of money can be saved. It is green and clean energy. It also helps in keeping the top floors of the building comparatively cooler.
