Tourist like to take good pics, sight seeing for soothing eyes and mind, play sports on beaches/parks, join cultural celebrations etc. Best photo taking spots should be marked along with some vista points from where you have good sight. Along the coastal highway, there should be state parks with fees which have parks, toilets and water along with some sports activities. There should also be some camping areas for domestic tourists with state fees providing revenues with fruit trees on the way.

I still do not see a clear roadmap about tourism in the e-book. I as a tourist , give prime importance to the following- 1. Ease/Convenience of tourism 2. Outcome in terms of happiness/entertainment/learning. 3. Better utilization of financial resources. When I start to explore, I should have options infront of me where can all I visit. Then How do I book them with ease in one shot including hotels etc. I would like to see the good list of restaurants around to eat.

First of all, these press conferences, talkathon and e-books are really good steps to seek 360 degree feedback from the people. I like the way Dr Mahesh has depicted his vision, mission & goals in the e-book. I hope other ministries can follow the same. However we also need to fix targets/goals for the next year in this e-book and how we plan to achieve, track, monitor and deliver them actually on the ground. Actual delivery and implementation on the ground had been a big setback for ages in IN

1) NRI quota for in short notice for Railway reservation, (many holidaying NRIs would love to travel by train but due to demand from Resident Indians, we cannot compete.
2) Panoramic coaches to see and feel the Diversity of India (like Swiss Rail). Scallable ques, proportionate to loads in immigration counters.
3) services fees must be standardized and published (tariffs for guides, rides etc.)
4) Ban plastic in retail at production esp before entering for retail and consumption markets.

To enable NRIs to come to India without hassle first and foremost thing to do is make visa and other procedures like OCI etc much more streamlined and easy......meaning less cumbersome. Today our Consulates and Embassies take 8 weeks to process the applications which should not take more than 2 to 3 weeks. Very inefficient operation plus we get very little help and cooperation from the responsible staff there. What can you do to improve the efficiency at these govt offices immediately? Thanks.

All national highways should have access to clean, well equipped , touch less rest areas, along with small motel/hotel accommodation. This is a prerequisite for a good tourism. People who are driving to several places will admire these kind of infrastructure.

Tourists should be given special laws to protect them from over exploitation, cheating, stealing from locals if there are any people who have record of such things. Hotels must be made safer and reasonable prices, and bills must be given for transactions. Tourists must be encouraged to form groups for additional safety.

India needs to develop Spiritual tourism. But in a careful way. Buddhist records show the journey of Buddha from place to place in north India accurately. Such places must be marked, and integrated for spiritual journey in circuit. All sermons, doctrines, teachings of Buddha must be depicted and shown in a understandable way to tourists. All such locations where Buddha taught must be located, and has to be presented in lively manner through a open theater, detailed and correctly drawn pictures

Hi Everyone,
Govt took the decision in JAN 2015 that PIO will be no longer valid all NRI need to apply for OCI. All the PIO created on or before 9 Jan 2015 can apply OCI in lieu of PIO card. But if PIO is created after 9th Jan 2015 need to surrender the PIO card with extra fee of $20 and apply new PIO with fee of $295
Is this a correct way because initially creating PIO took $205 and then $320 again with 4 month long process. There should be a better way

Army may need electric outlet to charge the batteries, will need on the spot patrol & internet. Also whenever someone visit from other side of the border,he/she should get a glimpse of advanced world class India. There should be some fun spots to entertain tourists along the road.We should encourage ppl to live at the border and not leave the border by giving them extra facilities as they deserve more then ppl who live inside the hinterland. We should build high speed tracks for trains there.
