This year, the monsoon has arrived early in many parts of India, making it the most suitable time for tree plantation. Early rains will provide young saplings with a longer and more favourable growing period, increasing their chances of survival and healthy growth.

As we face rising pollution levels, frequent heatwaves, and a sharp increase in temperatures during the months of January, February, March, April and beyond, trees will play a vital role in combating climate change, maintaining ecological balance, and providing clean air.

However, I also wish to draw attention to an important aspect often overlooked—site selection. In previous years, a large number of saplings could not survive due to the inadequate choice of planting sites. I request that this time, sites be selected with proper assessment of soil, water availability, and protection from human or animal interference, so the plantation effort yields long-term success.
