LPG is one of the ‘clean’ cooking fuel with present consumer base of 17cr in the country and present coverage is 60% of the households. Government of India is committed to increase LPG coverage in the country to 75% of the household. Present, LPG distributor network has more than 17000 distributors spread having presence in both Rural and Urban areas of the Country. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India is of the view that there is a need to increase of LPG coverage in the rural areas considering the benefits of LPG in terms of health and environment. Ministry recognizes that availability, accessibility and affordability of LPG are the key factors to increase the LPG coverage in rural areas. This can be done with bringing in new distributorships aligning with challenges encountered with respect of making them available to the last mile.

Therefore, Ministry solicits suggestions/inputs from citizens on the new model of distributorship particularly for the areas such as Hilly/Desert/Densely forested/other difficult locations. Also, to suggest names of locations which require establishing new distributorship.

The extant Guidelines for Selection of Distributorship is available on www.petroleum.nic.in

Dear Sir, I have observed in our town Adoni (KurnoolDist) that LPG Cylinders valves are not properly checked and many times gas leakage is observed. I am requesting to all officials of LPG suppliers and higher officers please insist the LPG supplier boys that one should check the cylinder Valves at the time of handed over the LPG cylinders. Higher officers give proper instruction to all deliver boys should check the LPG cylinders for any leakage of gas at the time of delivery at homes. ThankU

I have seen a lot of people who are generally student, faces the real challenge to get an LPG cylinder. Can we introduce a new LPG cylinder like 5 kg or 7 kg or 10 kg with either green color or with color other than normal 14.2 kg cylinder(red) or 19 kg cylinder(blue) color (to distinctly identify) and distribute those only to students or people who stay away from home for study or job.

i agree with yogendra ji we need bio gas in villages, we have supply of cow dung which can be converted to useful manure and gas for cooking. we need smart villages which are self sustainable and instead of rural gas agencies rural entreprenuers need to be encouraged, insentivised to set up community bio gas plants

Sir its good that we are getting LPG cylinders easily nowadays but there is a problem for students who are studying out of home. Students who are out of home are generally taking black cylinders so plzz make some plans so that students can also get LPG at subsidy price
