Nearly a decade and half has passed since the National Policy for Empowerment of Women, 2001 was formulated. Since then significant strides in global technology and information systems have placed the Indian economy on a trajectory of higher growth impacting the general populace and women, in particular in unique and different ways. The discourse on women’s empowerment has been gradually evolving over the last few decades, wherein paradigm shifts have occurred –from seeing women as mere recipients of welfare benefits to mainstreaming gender concerns and engaging them in the development process of the country. These changes have brought forth fresh opportunities and possibilities for women’s empowerment while at the same time presenting new and emerging challenges which along with persisting socio-economic problems continue to hinder gender equality and holistic empowerment of women.

The policy envisions a society in which, women attain their full potential and are able to participate as equal partners in all spheres of life. It also emphasises the role of an effective framework to enable the process of developing policies, programmes and practices which will ensure equal rights and opportunities for women.

The broad objective of the policy is to create a conducive socio-cultural, economic and political environment to enable women enjoy de jure and de facto fundamental rights and realize their full potential.

Hello,
The policy should be such that it gives equality to women. It should empower women, so that they can compete with men equal basis. It should not be such that only gives special privileges to women, which will result in women still being the "weaker sex" as the saying goes.
Hope you are aware of the misuse of the women centric laws in the country. So please draft the policy, so as to write those shortcoming because women are also victims of such biased laws...

Is life of a man of lesser value to our country/government? We have 49 women-centric laws, but not a single law for men. We have a Women's Commission and a ministry for women, but not a single window has been provided for a harassed/depressed man can to approach for help.
Isn't this system biased?

Expectation from Government is that it works towards welfare of all sections of society. But Maneka Gandhi is a Man hater. She is promoting hate movement against boys & Men. Her ministry poses a threat to life & liberty to male Indian citizens & innocent Indian boys. We deeply regret for voting BJP. Why government collecting taxes from men when you want to forcibly oppress them & deprive all their constitutional rights. NO VOTE 4 BJP. Enough is Enough. Tamasha with Tax Payer's Money. SAVE INDIA

National policy of women is a regressive policy per say and the inclusions are meant to create gender divide instead of equality . When women empowerment is considered as basic premise of the policy. What is the empowerment ?? what are parameter of empowerment ?? How does a women gets empowered ?? When will women be empowered ?? All this basic questions remain in answered in the policy . All policy includes is acquiring unlawful gains by legalising the gains solely for women .

erally, in a situation of a marital discord, the woman approaches a lawyer, who can use Section 498a as an extortion tool against the husband if he (the husband) does not accept the demands of a specific settlement. This is misused by the woman, based on her impulsive vengeance in situations which are not genuine – one where there is no harassment or demand for dowry by the husband or his family.Consider the case of Badan Devi in Orissa who at the age of 92 years and frail enough to barely stand

Please save boys and men they also human being .Here is no need for the policy as such. Why is govt silent on the misuse of the Dowry and domestic voilence laws?
Why you are making mens' life as secondary human ?
Gender based baised laws are doing their work by breaking country under#FeministsPressure.
#DontBreakBharat
The policies shoud be for human being. But it seems all the policies are being made in the baised manner to benefit Females
Why there is need to break the country further
