The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MSJE), in collaboration with MyGov, invites comments and suggestions from stakeholders and the general public on the draft accessibility standards for the Information & Communication Technology Sector. These draft standards, which identify non-negotiable rules, have been prepared to strengthen the creation of barrier-free environments in accordance with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and relevant rules.

All interested individuals are requested to carefully examine the proposed standards and submit their feedback, comments, and suggestions on the MyGov platform, ensuring that personal details are entered accurately during registration.

I applaud the Ministry for drafting these vital Accessibility Standards for the ICT sector. To truly empower persons with disabilities, I suggest the following: 1. Make Universal Design mandatory in all digital services. 2. Ensure apps/websites support AI tools like voice assistants, screen readers, and haptic feedback. 3. Include regional language support for better reach in rural areas. 4. Ensure public kiosks, ATMs, and CSCs are digitally accessible. 5. Launch an Accessibility Compliance Certification for digital platforms. 6. Add accessibility modules in digital literacy programs. 7. Set up a grievance portal for reporting accessibility issues. Digital inclusion must be a right, not a privilege. Let's build an India where no one is digitally left behind. Jai Hind.

Specify Accessibility Features: Include features like screen reader compatibility, closed captions, and keyboard-navigable interfaces. 2. Testing and Certification: Establish a testing and certification process. 3. Training and Awareness: Provide training on accessibility standards and best practices. 4. User Involvement: Involve users with disabilities in development and testing.

WHY THERE IS NO BRIDGE FOR THEIR CONVENIENCE TO GO TO SCHOOL???? PLEASE DO SOMETHING FOR THEM
