The District Administration Baghpat invites citizens, youth, innovators and institutions from across India on MyGov to share innovative and practical ideas to transform the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Mahashivratri Mela into a Zero Waste Mahotsav on theme “Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi”.

Building on the successful implementation of a Zero Waste model during Falguni Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations, this initiative aims to further strengthen sustainable practices and develop Baghpat as a model for green and responsible religious gatherings in India.

Aligned with the vision of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Swachh Bharat and sustainable tourism, the initiative promotes environmentally responsible behaviour, reduction of waste, resource efficiency and community participation in large public events.

What kind of ideas are we looking for?
      1. Participants are encouraged to submit practical, scalable and innovative ideas in areas such as:
      a. Waste management and zero waste systems
      b. Plastic-free alternatives for melas and religious events
      c. Eco-friendly materials and green infrastructure
      d. Awareness campaigns and behavioural change strategies
      e. Volunteer and youth engagement models
      f. Use of technology (apps, QR-based services, monitoring systems, etc.)
      g. Sustainable tourism and visitor management

      How to participate?
      1. Submit your idea in maximum 200–300 words
      2. Focus on solutions that can be practically implemented on ground
      3. You may include examples, models or case references

What will happen to your ideas?
Selected ideas will be reviewed by the District Administration and considered for implementation during the Shravani Mahashivratri Mela scheduled in second week of August 2026. Selected contributions may also be recognised as part of a district-led innovation initiative and documented as good practices.

This is an opportunity to contribute to building a national model of sustainable religious events, promote environmental responsibility, and strengthen citizen participation in governance. Your ideas can help demonstrate how tradition, technology and sustainability can work together for a better future.

Aap sabhi ko mera naman... Mela me aap jo marji karlo kuch log aise hote hai jo... Mela ki maryada ko manakar nhi rakhte... Dustbin lagane se fayde kaafi hai... Unke liye jo use maante hain... Lekin kuch log aise hote hai.. jo sirf ye dekhte hai... Kachra kaha feka jaye... Jisse hamara maan bade... Or dusre logo ko aisa lage hamne kachra fek kar kitna bada kaam kar diya ho.... Hamhe suraksha ka bhi khayal rakhna hoga.... Koi agar bahar se tourist aata hai... To use lage ki kya mela hai.. save🙏

🙏Greetings Respected 1. Dustbins should be placed at multiple spots in the fair. 2. Every day, quintals of flowers and belpatra will be offered at the fair. For this, a small processing plant should be set up near the temple premises. 3. A ₹10 extra tax/coupon should be charged on every plastic water bottle at the fair’s entry gate. When devotees exit the fair and return their empty bottle at the counter, they will get their ₹10 back. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

Theme: Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi Prakriti Prasad: Collect floral offerings in green bins. Local SHGs can convert this waste into compost, given to devotees as Eco-Prasad. Punya Points: Set up QR-kiosks. Devotees depositing dry waste correctly earn points for an eco-certificate or fast-track darshan. Jal Sewa: Ban single-use plastic bottles; use steel tumblers or clay kulhads at water stations.

Dear Prime minister Modi ji, Govt of India is taking step to curb oil cost. In India many senior citizens are using cars for their commutation. Some use paid drivers also. The options to curb oil cost is moving to EVs. Hence Govt of India to 1) provide some subsidy to senior citizens to purchase EV cars. 2) provide registration at zero cost ie without registration charge if the senior citizens go for exchange of their old cars for purchase of EVs

Transforming the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Temple Mahashivratri Mela into a “Zero Waste Mahotsav” under the theme “Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi” can inspire eco-conscious devotion. By banning single-use plastic, promoting biodegradable materials, waste segregation, composting, plantation drives, refill stations, and solar energy, the mela can become a model of cleanliness, sustainability, and spiritual harmony with nature.

The model includes a QR-based public information portal, volunteer operations app for crowd and sanitation monitoring, separate pilgrim and service corridors, senior citizen mobility support, decentralized prasadam counters, green vendor certification, and sacred flower recycling through SHGs to promote safe, sustainable and efficient mela management.
