The Income Tax Department invites constructive suggestions from citizens, taxpayers, professionals, businesses, and other stakeholders to strengthen its Citizen Charter and make it more transparent, citizen-centric, accessible, and responsive to the evolving needs of taxpayers.

The Citizen Charter reflects the Department's commitment towards delivering quality taxpayer services by defining service standards, timelines, taxpayer rights, and responsibilities. As part of its continuous efforts to improve taxpayer experience in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Department seeks practical suggestions and innovative ideas to further enhance the Citizen Charter.

Suggestions may be submitted on, but are not limited to, the following areas:

      • Improving taxpayer services and service standards.
      • Simplifying taxpayer interactions with the Income Tax Department.
      • Enhancing transparency, accountability, and service delivery.
      • Strengthening grievance redressal mechanisms.
      • Improving accessibility for senior citizens, women, persons with disabilities, and first-time taxpayers.
      • Promoting digital service delivery and ease of compliance.
      • Making the Citizen Charter easier to understand through simplified language and better communication.
      • Any other suggestions that can make the Income Tax Department more citizen-friendly, efficient, and responsive.

Your valuable suggestions will contribute towards strengthening taxpayer services, promoting trust, and building a transparent, efficient, and citizen-centric tax administration.

Vanakkam from Coimbatore. For Citizen Charter improvement: 1) Define clear timelines - e.g., ITR refund in 10 days, grievance response in 24hrs. 2) Add senior citizens/women/disabled-friendly counters and Tamil helpline. 3) Publish monthly transparency report on service delivery. 4) Simple language charter in regional languages with video. 5) One Taxpayer One Officer tracking system. This will make Income Tax citizen-centric for Viksit Bharat 2047. Thank you.

Resp govt, Kindly increase basic exemption limit to 25 lakhs, as rupee fall record low against usd, and more money makes low value. Even after income tax, there is indirect taxes to hunt citizens down. So kindly remove income taxes on income upto 25 lakhs.

A particularly useful idea would be a “One Taxpayer – One Dashboard” system that brings together all taxpayer services, notices, refunds, grievances, pending actions, deadlines, and communications in one place, with real-time status tracking and guaranteed service timelines. This would directly improve transparency, reduce confusion, and make the tax administration more citizen-centric.

All the owners of the house should pay income tax indifference of being BPL or APL or SC ST all the service people pay their TDS the income tax should be deducted at on the basis of the idea in a stable course which can be like if it is 3 lakh and wool if it is 4 5 lakh 8 lakh annual nothing like pws or b p l or ECL should be rebated because the backward classes are already getting loans entrepreneurship education and many more employment opportunities because of their caste and the Lo income but the income people with any income should not be given rebate from income tax or the ITRreturn so also the professional vakil chartered accountant doctor and teachers and other professionals should have a particular annual income tax whether they professionally work for themselves or not they should be debarred from getting another profession if the already hold a professional degree and they should be the compulsion of minimum tax payment

On long term capital gain tax there is 125000 rebate and now demanding to withdraw tax it is good to hear , my suggestion is there should be rebate on short term capital gain tax take my example I had paid tax on my profit for Rs 702/- , like me smaller buyer just to average out some losses selling shares in shorter period getting injustice there should be rebate like LTCG. Please consider it, other suggestions regarding annually getting bank interest on saving account there should not be tax for Rs.4000to 5000.
