Pathik (traveler) is conceived as a human, friendly and responsible face of NHAI. He represents the organization’s commitment to safe, seamless, innovative and sustainable mobility and contribution to nation building. A web of interlinking highways that merge into a handshake, the belt symbolizes NHAI’s role of establishing effortless connectivity between people, cities and regions ensuring seamless mobility. The Tricolor Helmet as the protective gear is a symbol of responsibility and attention and NHAI’s commitment toward safer roads and safe travel. The existing graphic elements of the FASTag card represent digital transformation, smart tolling and efficient highway management. The handshakes with road-belt, friendly nature of Pathik and his open gestures speak of reliability, accountability, transparency and a citizen centric approach. The bold green motifs, like the leaf on the hand, denote sustainable development, environmental responsibility and NHAI’s vision of the future of infrastructure. The highway emblem and the NHAI logo on his uniform with Indian Tricolor and Ashoka Chakra on the helmet are symbolic of National Pride and NHAI’s contribution to a futuristic and connected India. Pathik’s confident body language and the thumbs-up gesture signify, Together, we connect India.

The core concepts behind the WEBBING INDIA design include: Nationwide Interconnectivity: Just as a web intricate links every point, NHAI’s highway network bridges all four corners (N, S, E, W) of India seamlessly. The Master Architect: The spider represents precision, strength, and continuous building—symbolizing NHAI as the master weaver of modern infrastructure. Flow of Life & Economy: The web carries vehicles, signals, and routes, representing the vital arterial flow of trade, travel, and unity across diverse regions. Strength in Networked Unity: Individual roads build resilience together, making transportation faster, safer, and completely integrated.

The mascot personifies the highway itself as a friendly and approachable character, reflecting NHAI’s role in shaping a safer, better-connected and progressive India. Its distinctive road-inspired body creates an immediate visual connection with highways, while the road extending into a forward-pointing arrow represents continuous movement, connectivity and the nation’s journey towards development. The protective shield at the centre symbolises safety, security and trust, reinforcing NHAI’s responsibility towards safer journeys. The safety band further communicates the importance of responsible road travel. The green leaf integrated into the body represents environmentally conscious and sustainable infrastructure, highlighting the balance between development and care for nature. The mascot’s cheerful expression and open, welcoming gestures give it a people-friendly personality, representing accessibility, approachability and a positive relationship with road users. Together, these elements bring mobility, safety, connectivity, sustainability and human connection into one simple and memorable visual identity. The mascot is named “ANVAY”, a word signifying connection, relationship and association. The name reflects how highways connect people, places and opportunities, creating pathways that support India’s growth and development. ANVAY represents a connected journey towards a safer, sustainable and progressive India.

Bimbo is a friendly and cheerful elephant mascot designed for NHAI. He is strong, wise, and protective, with a natural sense of leadership. His constant smile and human-like features make him more approachable and relatable, while his NHAI uniform and cap give him a clear identity. Through Bimbo, I wanted to represent the strength, connection, and positive spirit of NHAI.

Happy to attach my submission, Pravahi, the personification of uninterrupted movement, symbolising smooth journeys, efficient highways and a network that keeps people and progress flowing across India. She serves as a contemporary guide to India's evolving road network, representing intuitive navigation, expanding connectivity and a highway system designed around the smooth flow of traffic. Pravahi is a futuristic robot-helper with a speedy, streamlined design. She is meant to represent the various goals and functions of NHAI while portraying the importance of technology in the future of our highways, whether it be new developmental machinery, integration of AI assisted monitoring systems, or predictive maintenance systems etc. The core idea behind Pravah is strongest if the core idea is seamless movement. The design is inspired by some key identifiers of the NHAI worker’s uniform, sporting the high visibility vest and hard-hat, suggesting that she is part of the team and in service to the people.
