The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens across India to share their constructive suggestions and innovative ideas through the initiative "Have an Idea? Share it with ICAI".
This initiative provides a platform for citizens, professionals, students, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to contribute their valuable ideas for strengthening the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Chartered Accountancy profession, and India's financial and economic ecosystem.
Participants are encouraged to submit their suggestions on areas such as strengthening the Chartered Accountancy profession, promoting economic development, enhancing transparency and good governance, leveraging technology and innovation, improving financial literacy, supporting entrepreneurship, and contributing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The objective of this initiative is to encourage meaningful public participation and harness diverse perspectives to help build a stronger, more transparent, innovative, and future-ready Chartered Accountancy profession while contributing to an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable financial ecosystem for the nation.

During the monsoon, enormous volumes of water surge through our rivers. Floods inundate towns, villages and agricultural land, while swollen rivers carry vast quantities of freshwater towards the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Yet only a few months later, many parts of the same country struggle with declining groundwater levels, dry wells, drinking-water shortages and severe agricultural stress. This contradiction reveals an important truth: India’s water crisis is not simply a crisis of water availability. It is also a crisis of storage, timing and management.

Title: CA Saathi – Compliance Helper for Small Businesses
Problem: Small shopkeepers, farmers, and MSMEs often struggle with GST, ITR, and TDS compliance. Professional fees are unaffordable for many, leading to missed deadlines, penalties, and exposure to unverified advisors.
Solution:
CA Saathi is a WhatsApp/mobile-based assistant available in Hindi and regional languages. It offers:
Deadline reminders for GST, ITR, and TDS in simple language.
Voice-based bookkeeping, where users say "sold goods worth ₹5,000 today" and the entry is recorded automatically.
CA connect, linking users to verified Chartered Accountants, including young CAs offering low-cost or pro-bono guidance.
UDIN QR verification to instantly check the authenticity of certificates.
Implementation: ICAI can pilot this through its regional branches in select Tier-2/3 towns, with CA students and members volunteering as mentors.
Impact: Better compliance and financial literacy among small businesses.

ICAI can introduce more free, simple and practical online courses for students, teachers, employees, small business owners and the general public on basic accounting, income tax, GST, personal finance and digital financial safety.
These courses can be available in regional languages, with free certificates after completion. This would improve financial awareness, employment skills and responsible financial decision-making among the public.

Exam-Oriented Content: Reduce unnecessary theory and focus on concepts that are important for exams as well as our future professional journey as Chartered Accountants. 4. AI & Technology Skills : Introduce courses on ChatGPT, Claude AI, Excel, Prompt Engineering, AI automation and other modern tools to prepare students before articleship. 5. The basic thought is simple: India's development will not come only from large companies. Millions of small businesses, first-generation entrepreneurs, women entrepreneurs and young founders will also shape Viksit Bharat. Many of them have good ideas but limited knowledge of finance, taxation, cash-flow management and compliance. Viksit Bharat cannot be built only in boardrooms. It has to be built in every small business, every startup, every college and every entrepreneurial dream
My idea is simple, ICAI could create a “CA for Viksit Bharat” national initiative where CAs and CA students voluntarily conduct short financial-awareness and business-readiness programmes for young and small entrepreneurs understand the financial side of their businesses. If we can help people make better financial decisions, manage their businesses responsibly and grow sustainably, we are not just creating better businesses, we are creating a stronger economy.

I present you my idea of 'RailEdge AI' which solves train tracking failures in dead zones like tunnels, forests, and remote valleys where GPS and satellite systems fail.
Solution:
• Trackside Checkpoints: Low-cost RF receivers on signal posts detect RF transmitters installed on train engines.
• Edge Processing: Trackside ESP32 microcontrollers process telemetry data locally and relay it via cloud and cellular/RF mesh fallbacks
• Smart ETA Prediction: Machine learning models (XGBoost) analyze speed, historical delays, and section data for accurate arrival forecasts.
• Real-time Alerts: Pushes dynamic arrival updates to apps, station boards, and offline SMS alerts for non-smartphone users.
Impact: Delivers 100% route coverage at under 10% the cost of existing legacy systems, improving railway operational efficiency and passenger convenience.
