The NHAI Gaur Mascot represents strength, safety, responsibility, and dependable service on India’s highways. Inspired by the Indian Gaur (Bos gaurus), one of India’s most powerful native animals, the mascot symbolizes resilience, stability, and reliable infrastructure. Designed with a friendly and approachable appearance, it promotes trust and road safety among travellers. Its upright posture reflects active service, while the thumbs-up gesture conveys confidence, positivity, and safe journeys. The safety helmet and reflective workwear represent highway construction, maintenance, and NHAI’s commitment to road safety. The highway-themed shield symbolizes protection and secure mobility, while the road elements highlight NHAI’s role in connecting people and opportunities across the country. The mascot embodies the vision of “Safe Roads, Stronger India.”

This is a friendly mascot for National Highways Authority of India. The character’s body is a white highway milestone with a smiling face, blue eyes, and a yellow helmet marked “NHAI” in blue – showing safety and authority. His lower body has two wheels with blue mudguards and yellow speed lines, making him fast and mobile. He holds a blue safety shield in his right hand that reads *“Safety Quality Progress”* with a tricolor highway graphic, which is NHAI’s core promise. On his chest is the slogan *“Safe Roads Safe Journey”* with a bridge and highway illustration, emphasizing NHAI’s role in building safe, modern highways. The small tricolor strokes add a national touch. His left hand gives a thumbs-up, conveying trust, approval, and reassurance. The overall design uses NHAI colors – blue, yellow, white – and blends infrastructure (road, bridge, helmet) with a human, cheerful personality to make highways feel safer and more relatable to the public.
